What is cooking therapy?

A method where cognitive therapy is combined with cooking. The two fields; separately but also combined, have a proven, efficient and positive impact on our lives. This special cooking therapy was also inspired by different methods ranging from meditation, through to mindfulness and ikigai.

Cooking therapy is neither a traditional life coaching method nor a cooking course. Through this complex therapy you learn to see your life differently and to solve difficulties with more ease. Along with the guidance of the coach you gain a greater understanding of yourself.

During the course, you will not only have a better insight into your own life, but also learn how to cook better. Cooking therapy has long-lasting effects that make life seem easier, regardless of the food itself.

After the therapy you can handle stress and schedule your life easier. Besides gaining self-confidence, you will have a better insight over your mental and physical states. With the development of social skills, interacting with others will be a lot easier. During the therapy you can experience your creativity, which is the very basis of self-realization.

Cognitive therapy

Cognitive therapy is a branch of life coaching that focuses on the present and the future with the almost complete exclusion of the past. This process does not work with "proven recipes" since one of its basic principles is that they do not exist. Coaching is not about trying to change your personality, but more to help to change your habits.

Cognitive therapy is about the progression of short and long term perspectives. We work on the development of a self-confident personality. The coach helps you to be multifaceted. Throughout the course, we will select the most appropriate direction relevant to the habits you wish to change. The coach does not solve situations, but guides you how to do so. You learn cultural and design thinking, which always makes it possible for you to find a personalized solution. Going forward it is possible even without the aid of a coach.

We won’t be learning "recipes," but improvising, so you can create from any ingredients or any situation anytime, anywhere. If you learn to live - and cook - in an improvised way, there is no barrier that can stand on your way.

Cooking

It's well known that people open up with more ease whilst baking and cooking. These activities have clinically proven positive effects both mentally and physically. The cooking process, including the preparation and the consumption are important factors during the therapy.

In addition to the preparation of meals, you will learn one of the more delicate sides of gastronomy. This includes tempering and handling of chocolate. We will make a lot of bonbon, praline and marzipan desserts. This area of gastronomy is perfect for this kind of therapy. It is a combination of precision, creativity and indulgence.
